Apple MacBook Pro 14in (M3 Max) (2024)

“...When you say the M3 doesn't perform as well on games on Battery as while plugged to the wall, did you check if the battery was on Saving Power mode?...”

“...Thanks for being clear on the memory bandwidth downgrade because people don't understand how important that is for rendering work...”

“...Also by today's standards, 1.6k dollars base model should give you at least 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. 8GB of RAM is a big no for a "pro" machine...”

“...If I ordered an M3 with the same specifications, I would be paying CAD $650 dollars more...”

“...It's ridiculous that Apple still offers a baseline machine (ANY machine) with only 8GB of memory. They can spin it however they want about the memory efficiency and utilization of the OS. It's still entirely insufficient...”

“...people will actually find some meaning to buy a laptop that can never be upgraded...”

“...Imagine a world where you could buy a Macbook today, and in a couple of years time add more RAM, or swap-out your SSD for more capacity...”

“...the hardware is so locked down and anti right to repair...”

“...Yeah the moment he brings in the black surface the black macbook looks like space grey...”

“...I can also confirm that space black is a fingerprint magnet - I believe the units were on the floor for few days max, and only space black was all over stained with prints...”

“...The keyboard "grease stains" have only gotten worse over the years. It's essentially the keys losing their cheap coating...”

“...I was checking the new MBP at the local store show floor yesterday... one thing struck me immediately - the sharp slots which are cut alongside the bottom edge of the body on each side. I am not sure they were at the previous gen, but they look like a potential dust suckers...”

“...Peak power draw is also way up as a consequence, which results in the lower battery you showed...”

“...I wouldn't buy a new MacBook, not because I can't afford it, but because macOS has become so bloated and buggy (especially with extremal displays)...”

“...Realistically if you’re into games you’ll need both this and a PC. If not, you’re stuck with the small selection of games on Mac...”
